International snippets: Vietnam, Spain

Vietnam produced 32.9 million square meters of glass in the first 10 months of this year, a year-on-year decrease of 4.1 percent, according to a Nov. 2 report from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.

The Spanish glass industry produced 346,600 tons of glass waste in 2006, of which 346,200 tons was nonhazardous waste and 400 tons was hazardous waste, according to an Oct. 27 report from Spain’s National Statistics Institute. These figures for 2006 have just been reported.
